WHY?!. Its the same as calling episode V of Star Wars: Darth Vader is Lukes father! Well, not as bad.
They also finally shown what Kakuzo can do, and his victims were non other than the expandable duo of Izumo and Kotetsu. I was surprised most of the fight the just stood there Shikamaru, but at least they did something good at the end, albeit having their asses handed to them by Kakuzo. I loved the idea of using characters we dont see often, but considering people in Japan like him, why not include Iruka sensei in main arc? Does he have anything going for him besides a scar and the fact he buys ramen to random children?
Jokes aside, the last moments of Asumas unfortunate demise were powerful and Morikawa Shoutaros performance as Shikamaru was definitely worth mentioning. I can understand why they used Asuma in the last filler arc so much, because they wanted to give him a nicer farewell than what the manga did and thanks to the little back story you are more attached to him, not to mention it was the first time I have seen Shikamaru emotional
The OP and ED changed this week, and as much as I liked Blue Bird, I love CLOSER. Inoue Joe is a pretty cool singer and probably the first one to sing in English correctly, maybe his english origin explains that. It was cool to see HALCALI doing a song for Naruto and a sad one no less. Honestly, it is a nice change for them and the song really fit the mood of the episode, especially the emphasis on Kurenai. Also, this is the very first ending to not feature Sasuke in any form. I know what you think, he wasnt in Kimi Monogatari. True, but Sai did mention his name.
All in all, very emotional episode, and like the first series, we are going to have a very emotional funeral at episode 80. If the series keeps up like that it may wash away the taste of the previous canon arc.

Naruto Shippuuden #78(NARUTO #298) aired last night in Japan. It's an Episode of Team Asuma's battle against Akatsuki's Hidan（飛段）and Kakuzu(角都） whose names derive from the names of major pieces such as Rook(飛車） and Bishop（角行） in shogi. As you see below, there is a shogi board appears as a background when Shikamaru concentrates on thinking about remedy for Asuma in the episode.
As we meet unknown position in a shogi game to analize it for thinking about next move within a byoyomi period, Shikamaru encounters unknown Hidan's overwelming power at the battle to have to analize his capability very quickly to make a remedy. The second incarnation of the very popular NARUTO manga. This anime features Part II of the manga storyline which takes place two years after the events at the end of the Sasuke Retrieval arc (Episodes 107–135) of the first TV series.
The story revolves mainly around Uzumaki Naruto's and Haruno Sakura's new adventures and their search for Uchiha Sasuke after he left Konoha-gakure (Leaf Village) to gain Orochimaru's power. The plot also shows a more active Akatsuki in their quest for obtaining all the tailed beasts.
After his failed attempt to retrieve Sasuke, Naruto learns that circumstances have granted him slightly less than three years to prepare for a confrontation with Orochimaru, who has to wait that much time before he can transfer into Sasuke's body. Naruto also must prepare for his eventual confrontation with Akatsuki, who are after the demon sealed within him. To prepare, Naruto leaves the village and undergoes intensive training under Jiraiya. At the same time, Sakura becomes Tsunade's apprentice, and Sasuke trains under Orochimaru. Thus, all three members of the original Team 7 are now training under one of the Legendary Sannin.
